Distinguishing Obstructive Sleep Apnea Using Electroencephalography Records

چکیده
In this study, it was aimed to find out whether electroencephalographic (EEG) frequency bands can be used distinguish people with obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) from those who do not have it. 11842 different cases taken 121 patients suffering OSA were combined the case study of 30-person control group without apnea. Apneas highlighted at respiration-record channels and EEG records which are concurrent abnormal respiration extracted C4-A1 C3-A2. Following that, they examined Fourier Wavelet Transforms using a new software that developed by us. The percentage values Delta (0, 5-4 Hz), Theta (4-8 Alpha (8-13 Hz) Beta (13-30 evaluated help t-test ROC Analysis differentiate between apneas. C3-A2 (%) level gave highest distinguishing asset (AUC=0.662; p

Detecting the Duration of Incomplete Obstructive Sleep Apnea Events Using Interhemispheric Features of Electroencephalography
Obstructive sleep apnea not only affects sleep quality, it can also be lifethreatening. For diagnosis and treatment, most clinicians use a patient’s sleep data recorded by polysomnography. However, the amount of overnight sleep data is massive, which makes efficient and comprehensive data interpreting extremely challenging. Numerous detection methods have been developed; however, the accuracy o...

sleep apnea, and particularly obstructive sleep apnea, is a common disorder that is characterized by a repetitive, partial or complete cessation of air flow, associated with oxyhemoglobin desaturation and an increased effort to breath. in recent years, orthodontists have been interested and involved in the management of this disorder since it has been shown that oral appliance therapy can be an...
متن کاملObstructive Sleep Apnea Detection Using Speech Signals
Obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) syndrome is a prevalent sleep disorder that affects 2% of women and 4% of men aged more than 50 years. OSA is associated with anatomical and functional abnormalities of the upper airway due to evolution of the speech production system. It is well known that anatomic and functional changes in the vocal tract components affect the acoustic parameters of speech; hence...

Background: It has been implicated that obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) is associated with increased risk of cardiovascular disease including stroke, myocardial infarction, coronary artery disease (CAD) and hypertension. The aim of this study was to investigate the correlation between OSA and severity of atherosclerosis assessed by angiography. Methods: This study included 337 patients ...

Obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) is a serious sleep disorder which is characterized by frequent obstruction of the upper airway, often resulting in oxygen desaturation. The serious negative impact of OSA on human health makes monitoring and diagnosing it a necessity. Currently, polysomnography is considered the gold standard for diagnosing OSA, which requires an expensive attended overnight stay a...
